SATS (Standard Assessment Tests) are given at the end of year 2 and year 6.

Their purpose is to show how much the students have learned and retained throughout the year.

When the exams have been marked, every pupil is given a national curriculum level, and the school is expected to meet targets set by the government. There is no 'pass' or 'fail' on these tests, the results just show how the school is performing compared with others.
