    Happy Christmas From St. John’s School

     

    Following another busy and eventful term, our St. John’s community wish you all a happy, peaceful and holy Christmas. We hope you all have a restful break and look forward to seeing all the children again on Thursday 4th January 2024.

     

    A reminder that we have a T.D. Day tomorrow Wednesday 20th December 2023 so the school is closed to all pupils.

    KS1 Crib Reflection

     

    Well done to all the children in Year 1 and Year 2 who celebrated their Crib reflection and carol concert in the Church on Wednesday evening. You were an absolute credit to your families and to the school - we were all so proud of you.

     

  • EYFS Nativity

    EYFS Nativity

     

    Huge congratulations to the children in EYFS who shared their version of the Nativity so beautifully in the parish church on Friday afternoon. The children's interpretation of the events in Bethlehem showed such love and care it was a joyful occasion. What a perfect message, that the best gifts are those which are given with love. Many thanks to all the families who were able to join us - we were delighted to have you with us. 

     

     

  • Advent Penitential Service

    Advent Penitential Service

     

    During the season of Advent the children are busy preparing their hearts and minds so that they are truly ready to celebrate Christmas. The whole school gathered together last Friday for our Advent Penitential Service and reflected on preparing our hearts, many thanks to the Chapel Champions and School Choir for leading us so beautifully in prayer and song.

    Class 8 Violin Concert

     

    On Tuesday 5th December Class 8 performed their Christmas songs and carols in a violin concert. The hall was packed with a great audience, a very big thanks to Charlotte our violin teacher. We sang our carol outdoors and had Sofia and Finley accompany us in the playground too!

    We will be celebrating Children's Mass at St John the Baptist Catholic Church on Sunday 3rd December at 10.30am - all are very welcome.

    Class 8 will be holding a Violin Performance on Tuesday 5th December at 2.45pm.

    Parents and grandparents are very welcome to come into school to watch them perform. Please come to the office to sign in the visitors book.

    Christmas Lunch and Wear Christmas Jumpers—Tuesday 19th December 2023

     

    On the last day of term Aspens are providing a Christmas lunch. If your child would like a meal, please go onto the Aspens Select website and order a lunch by 4pm on Friday 8th December 2023.

     

    Pupils are also invited to wear a Christmas jumper and give a donation of £1 towards the Water Pump Appeal.
