  Order Deadline Date For Ordering School Lunches For Term 5

   

  The deadline for ordering your child a hot meal for the first day of Term 5, Monday15th April 2024 is 4pm on Wednesday 27th March 2024.

   

  If you order after this date, your order will not be seen by the kitchen so will not be included in their numbers. You will therefore have to provide a packed lunch on this day. There will be no spare meals to feed your child if you do not order by the deadline.

   

  You are able to order all meals for the remainder of the school year up until the summer holidays.

  EYFS Mother’s Day Celebration

   

  On Friday 8^th March the children in EYFS welcomed their 'mother figures' to a short service reflecting on Mary - a mother to us all - and celebrating the gift of love that our families share each and every day. It was a wonderful afternoon where the important women in the children's lives could take some quality time out of their day to reflect on the wonderful work they are doing to raise the leaders of the future. We  enjoyed a drink and biscuit together and made bird feeders to take home so that the birds in our neighbourhood could be taken care of and living out our role of stewardship. Thank you again to all the adults who could join us - the hall was packed and the children were delighted that you were with us.

  Our Trowbridge Youth Parliament Reps, Rose (Chair) and Bea, visited Southwick Primary School this morning for an incredibly productive meeting filled with great ideas. Well done everyone and thanks for hosting us Southwick Primary School!

  Visit by the Right Honourable Andrew Murrison MP

   

  The Right Honourable Andrew Murrison MP visited St John’s today for a Q&A session with KS2.  Our children asked lots of challenging and interesting questions, really putting him through his paces. Dr Murrison’s visit ended with a tour of St John’s led by Trowbridge Youth Parliament Chair, Rose and House Captain, Danny.

  4 pupils in KS2 are running an Easter Raffle to raise money for the Emmaus Water Pump Appeal.

   

  They will be selling raffle tickets next week and the Monday and Tuesday of the last week of term. The draw will take place on the last day of term Wednesday 27th March. Tickets will cost 25p each or £1 a strip(5 tickets).

  Pupils and staff enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book characters for World Book Day yesterday. We had wonderful costumes.

  Class 7 Violin Concert

   

  On Tuesday 26th March 2024 families of pupils in Class 7 are invited to a violin concert to celebrate their learning for Terms 3 and 4. The concert will be from 2.45pm-3.05pm in the school hall.

  Please arrive no later than 2.40pm and sign in the at the main office.      Unfortunately we will not be able to admit anyone once the concert has started.

  Key Stage 1 had The Trunk Theatre Company visit St John's this week to do a performance linked to their topic learning on The Great Fire of London.

   

  The children had a fantastic time watching the performance, joining in activities and learnt la lot about this time in history!

   

  Thank you to the KS1 parents for your contributions towards the cost! It was such a great way to start their topic!

  On Tuesday 27th February our Year 5 pupils attended the fantastic STEAM event at County Hall which was organised by the Learning   Resources Hub.

  The children had a great time and really enjoyed the range of exhibits and activities.

   

   

  

• Bike Donation for a St. John’s School Pupil

  Bike Donation for a St. John’s School Pupil

   

  Following the Bikeability courses for pupils in Year 6 in December and January, Richard Smith from Wiltshire Council who runs Bikeability arranged for one of our pupils who has moved here from overseas to    have a bike of her own.

  One of the mechanics’ daughter in Evans Cycles in the town offered our pupil her   own bike that she had grown out of.

  Bikeability and Evans Cycles also donated  a helmet and a high viz jacket to enable   her to ride her new bike safely.

  The girls are hoping to meet up at a later date so they can have a safe ride together.

  We would like to thank Evans Cycles and Bikeability for their very generous gift.
