Donation of Books from Toppings & Co

During term 4, Year 5 and 6 wrote persuasive letters to a variety of  people  and organisations. Some of the children received responses. These included from our local MP, Andrew Murrison, and from Bath Cats and Dogs home.  Lidia in class 11 received a response from Topping & Company Booksellers in Bath. Not only did they write a letter in response but sent us three boxes of specially selected books for our school library!

    The King’s and Queen’s Parade

This morning, pupils in Year 3 participated in a parade around town ending in The Shires in Trowbridge to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

They dodged the predicted showers and enjoyed seeing pupils from  other schools. Wearing their home-made crowns they pupils thoroughly enjoyed their trip.

From 24th April – 4th May, Kittie, Amie, Poppy, Daisy and Iga (in Class 10) have been raising money for the Emmaus Water Project with their Football Fundraiser. SO many children were involved from EYFS – Year 6… even the teachers took part in weird and wonderful wigs for the ‘grand final’. Well done girls!

  • Canon Liam O’Driscoll

    Canon Liam O’Driscoll

On Friday evening the Parish community joined together to give thanks for the dedication and service that Canon Liam O'Driscoll has provided to our schools and parish over the past 27 years whilst in Trowbridge.

It was a fitting tribute for someone who has lived out the Gospel     teaching with such love, energy and enthusiasm - reminding us all that God loves us!

The beautiful Mass was led by Bishop Declan and Canon Tom ensured that all the visiting priests and hundreds of parishioners were warmly welcomed. One of the 'gift's' that was offered to Canon Liam on the evening was through song where children from both St John's and St Augustine's Catholic College sang a rendition of the song 'May the Road Rise To Meet You'. The children were exemplary role models and we are so thankful for their contribution to the celebration with the      support of Miss O'Mahony.

We wish Canon Liam a long and healthy retirement and look forward to his future visits to St John's.
