School Open Days

We warmly invite prospective parents and carers to attend our School Open Days at St John’s Catholic Primary School. These special events offer a wonderful opportunity to explore our welcoming school environment, meet our dedicated staff, and see firsthand how our children learn and grow in faith, knowledge, and friendship.

During the open days, you’ll have the chance to tour classrooms, ask questions, and learn more about our strong Catholic ethos and enriching curriculum. Whether you are considering St John’s for Reception or other year groups, we encourage you to come along and discover what makes our school such a special place to begin your child’s educational journey. We are holding Open Days on the following dates:

Thursday 10th October 2024 9.30am-2.30pm

Saturday 23rd November 2024 9.00am-12.00pm

Wednesday 4th December 2024 9.30-2.30pm

Reception 2026
 

If you have a child born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022, then now is the time to apply for a place at our school for admission from September 2026 onwards. You must complete an application form that is available from the school admissions team of Wiltshire Council. Please ensure you apply by the closing date of 15 January 2026.

If your child is Catholic, you must also provide a copy of the baptism certificate to the school by this date. Please note the local authority do not send copies of the baptism certificates to school. 

Timeline for Admission Appeals

• For applications made in the normal admissions round (i.e. submitted before the years deadline of 15th January), appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals;

• For late applications (i.e. submitted before the first day of the school term of the admission year) appeals should be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged;
   
• For applications for in-year admissions, appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged
