Thank you for visiting our school website. We are a large and thriving Catholic community, where the teachings of Christ are lived out every day through our words, actions, and relationships. Catholic Social Teaching themes are a golden thread through everything we do, guiding our mission to 'grow and learn in the footsteps of Jesus'.
Religious Education is the core of the core of our curriculum. It shapes the way we teach, learn, and grow together, inspiring children to deepen their faith, develop their moral understanding, and see the world through a lens of compassion and service.
Our dedicated and experienced staff bring not only exceptional expertise, but also a heartfelt commitment to nurturing every child. United by a shared belief in the human dignity and potential of each pupil, we aim high—for every learner, in every lesson, every day. We live out our belief that we are all brothers and sisters.
In this fast moving world we treasure the fact that we hold the gift of being guardians of children’s childhoods during the school day. At St John's high quality play is an essential element of learning every day. We are extremely proud to be part of the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) initiative and blessed with the stunning school grounds - including our Forest School area.
At St John’s, we encourage children to believe in themselves and to aspire to greatness—not only in their academic achievements, but in the way they contribute to the world around them – to be the peacemakers, change makers and leaders of the future. We offer a broad and rich curriculum underpinned by Gospel values, fostering confidence, creativity, resilience, and a deep sense of responsibility.
Whether you are a prospective family or a long-standing member of our school community, I hope our website gives you a clear sense of our ethos, our values, and our commitment to excellence for all.
Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to know more or arrange a visit—we would be delighted to welcome you in person.
With every blessing,
Mrs K O'Rourke
