During term 4, Year 5 and 6 wrote persuasive letters to a variety of  people  and organisations. Some of the children received responses. These included from our local MP, Andrew Murrison, and from Bath Cats and Dogs home.  Lidia in class 11 received a response from Topping & Company Booksellers in Bath. Not only did they write a letter in response but sent us three boxes of specially selected books for our school library!

  • Canon Liam O’Driscoll

    Canon Liam O’Driscoll

On Friday evening the Parish community joined together to give thanks for the dedication and service that Canon Liam O'Driscoll has provided to our schools and parish over the past 27 years whilst in Trowbridge.

It was a fitting tribute for someone who has lived out the Gospel     teaching with such love, energy and enthusiasm - reminding us all that God loves us!

The beautiful Mass was led by Bishop Declan and Canon Tom ensured that all the visiting priests and hundreds of parishioners were warmly welcomed. One of the 'gift's' that was offered to Canon Liam on the evening was through song where children from both St John's and St Augustine's Catholic College sang a rendition of the song 'May the Road Rise To Meet You'. The children were exemplary role models and we are so thankful for their contribution to the celebration with the      support of Miss O'Mahony.

We wish Canon Liam a long and healthy retirement and look forward to his future visits to St John's.

  • Summer School Uniform

    Fri 21 Apr 2023

    Summer School Uniform

We would like to thank all pupils who have returned to school after the Easter holidays in their summer uniform. We would like to clarify the following:

Reception children wear a gold polo short throughout the year and not a shirt and tie.

During the summer terms boys should wear a gold polo shirt with a logo and brown shorts should be worn with shoes or sandals (3/4 length shorts and Bermuda or surfing shorts are not acceptable). Socks must be worn at all times.

All girls (including EYFS) may wear a yellow and white checked dress (white shorts may be worn under the dress) with either white or dark shoes or sandals. Again socks must be worn at all times.

No children are allowed to wear trainers unless they are taking part in a PE lesson. Jewellery must not be worn with the exception of a watch and one small pair of stud earrings. Nail varnish and dyed hair is not  allowed and fashion or extreme hairstyles are not permissible, long hair is to be tied back.

PLEASE help to keep your child looking smart by naming every item of clothing. It is impossible to return uniform to its rightful owners if it is not clearly labelled.
